This is how we do
Waterloo Region is more than just building cool things - it’s a place where we build together. That’s what we do here. Working, playing, helping, giving, celebrating, are all part of the Waterloo Region ethos. You can experience it all at the True North Festival.
In 2020, the True North Festival will include focused, intimate discussions in our True North Centre Stage Summits, thought provoking keynote speakers and a wide variety of concurrent (business and fun) events throughout the community.
The week is also a showcase of the best Waterloo Region has to offer. Fluxible, Canada's UX Festival (made up of Fluxbile Meetups, Fluxible Workshops and Fluxible Conference), takes place during the week with daily lunch and learns open to the community and Festival attendees. Local meetups covering topics from sales professionals to marketing to diversity and inclusion will be opening their doors to True North Festival attendees too.
While the meetups and summits feed your mind, the True North Festival can help lift your soul too. Local restaurants, bars and clubs bring a week’s worth of specials to bring people together. It’s like having a savvy local guide to show you all the hidden gems in a new town. For Waterloo Region locals, it’s a way to rediscover the community you thought you knew, and show our international guests what makes this place extraordinary.
What can you expect? Live music at awesome venues along the ION light rail transit system. Meetups for all - cyclists, artists, machine learning specialists and everyone in between. We’ve got craft breweries, distilleries, an ice cream factory and more shawarma joints than a community our size should logically have. Food and drink specials at some of Canada’s best restaurants and watering holes.
